Dubai to host eight Global Architectural Awards

Aug 12, 2010 1 Comment by

Emerging markets have recently seen the most catalytic optimism when compared to developed larger economies of the world.  The projects will be awarded on many key performance indicators. These indicators will include creativity of design, sustainability, and vision of the builder. The projects will be chosen from Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. Top industry experts will analyze each of the competitor’s projects to determine the best in different categories. The winners will be announced in Dubai on 5th October, 2010.

Earlier the Group Director of Cityscape expressed his reasons for giving away these awards, “Emerging markets are providing much of the dynamism in the global real estate markets at the moment. Economic sentiment is more bullish than in the more mature Western markets and it is against that backdrop of confidence and optimism that we will celebrate excellence in architectural design.”

Real estate has been seeing different moods in different economies of the world. Somewhere it has seen depressed demand with no buyer to buy, where other real estate markets of the world have seen unprecedented levels of demand for the real estate.

Apart from the regular awards being awarded, this year some six special categories have been included in this award giving ceremony. These special awards are believed to have been included to encourage the designers in exploring new ways of looking at projects. These six special categories are as follows.

Young Architect Award

This award aims to boost confidence of young architects coming towards the world of architecture design. The objective is to encourage new people to enter into this market and give it a new dimension in terms of design and creativity.

The Industry Choice Award

This award will be given to that project which has been voted as the best by the voters of Cityscape Global.

The Islamic Architecture Award

As the name suggests, this award will be given to that project which depicts Islamic culture in its design.

The Cultural Heritage Award

This award will be given to that project which successfully preserves a culture in its design of the past generations and that culture through that project can help future generations gain insight of the past generations.

The Master Planning Award

This award will be given to that project which is best planned for the living of a community.

Environmental Award

This award will be awarded to a project that best incorporates green building and Eco-friendly concepts into design.

Most of us think that Dubai is the only place where one can find outstanding and unbelievable architectural designs but with the inclusion of Latin America, Africa and Asia I think people will come to know about the excellent architectural work done in other parts of the world as well.
